RESOURCES FOR TRAINING TEEN LEADERS TO PRESENT EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS

The value of using trained teen leaders is that young people respond best to those whose age is close to their own age.

The number one influence today on the values and attitudes that influence young people’s behaviors is their peers.

Teen leaders who are only a few years older than the participants can bring a sense of reality to defined program material and in the process model positive attitudes and behaviors. An adult leader, however, should always accompany teen leaders and assume responsibility for the overall presentation.

Training Teen Leaders enables adults to teach teens basic leadership skills and classroom management techniques that ensure successful classroom presentations. Teen leaders have an opportunity to practice their new skill set using the Postponing Sexual Involvement curriculum.

Includes 5 Teen Leader Survival Guides that provide practical tips, how to’s, and summaries of materials that teen leaders can use in learning to give classroom or other group presentations.
