MEDIA MADNESS:
AN EDUCATIONAL SERIES FOR YOUNG TEENS

This one day training enables adults to present the Media Madness curriculum at the middle school level.

By the time teens reach age 18, they will have been exposed to 500,000 sexual messages in the media.

Media Madness Educational Series for Young Teens consists of five skill-building sessions designed to help youth resist media pressures to become sexually involved before marriage. Appropriate at the middle-school level, the curriculum helps teens get the “RAP” on the media:

  • R= Resist Media Pressures to Become Sexually Involved
  • A= Avoid Being Tricked by the Media
  • P= Protect Their Future

Media Madness meets Federal and State guidelines requiring that eight key elements be addressed in providing abstinence education.

Presenter: Marion Howard PhD or Tamica Means DAH
Dates: Trainings are being scheduled throughout 2009 with funds provided by OAPP, AFL, US Department of Health and Human Services
Cost: Materials and trainings are provided without charge to Georgia educators who can reach 50 youth with the program within one year.

Educators in Georgia participating in the Media Madness: Young Teen Series Training also are invited, but not required to attend the Media Madness: Parent Seriers Training and vice versa.
