SPECIAL RELATIONSHIPS
Teen Services Program
The Jane Fonda Center has a special relationship with the Grady Health System Teen Services Program. Through contractual arrangements between Emory University and Grady Health System, the Teen Services Program receives medical direction from the Jane Fonda Center. The family planning-focused program for adolescents also serves as a service and learning site for the Jane Fonda Center.
Regular contact with young people and the clinical staff at Teen Services helps keep the Center grounded in the realities of today’s youth. Coupled with community contacts and insights, this relationship helps fuel the Center’s efforts in the areas of service delivery improvement, research and evaluation, program and materials development, as well as training.
Knowledge developed at the Jane Fonda Center is funneled back to the Teen Services Program to enhance its planning and operations. Through the generous support of Jane Fonda, the Teen Services Program acquired and renovated its own dedicated teen-friendly space in 2001.
Georgia Campaign for Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention
The Jane Fonda Center has a special relationship with the Georgia Campaign for Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention. This advocacy organization was begun by Jane Fonda as part of a broad-based effort to improve the ability of Georgians to help young people avoid the negative personal, educational, social, and health outcomes so often associated with teen pregnancy.
As such, GCAPP holds conferences, operates programs, sponsors curriculum development and training, facilitates networking, and engages in other activities that can significantly impact on teen pregnancy in Georgia.
The Jane Fonda Center works cooperatively with GCAPP on special projects and the Jane Fonda Center Director serves on one of GCAPP’s advisory boards.
