Dual Protection

Dual protection is the use of more than one method of contraception concurrently.

The Jane Fonda Center is partnering with Rollins School of Public Health on this special interest project funded by the CDC to develop and evaluate a clinic-based intervention to increase dual protection against unintended pregnancy and STD’s among high risk female teens.  Research is currently being done to ascertain perceptions of both provider and client views on current practices and influences that affect dual method protection use.

The Jane Fonda Center is looking to implement a clinic based intervention from the research gathered around the findings of this special interest project, in order to change the way reproductive health services are provided, to increase the use of dual protection among young adolescents who are at high risk for unintended pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections.
